Directly at Opernplatz: public imaging opens new office in Frankfurt am Main

3 minutes

Aug 27, 2026

For three decades, public imaging has successfully managed the communication of companies in the financial industry. Five years ago, in addition to the office in Hamburg, another location was strategically established in Frankfurt am Main. This has now developed into a permanent branch. This is because the team in Frankfurt has grown, just like the client portfolio. Thus, the physical expansion was only a matter of time. And the new address should be familiar in the financial industry: Hochstraße 52, directly at Opernplatz and next to the Bitburger.

Why a second location

Anyone working in financial communications in Germany knows how important the Frankfurt location is. This is because most asset managers in this country are based in the financial metropolis. Our second location therefore primarily means even greater proximity to our clients for us.

On the one hand, this means: direct contacts, short distances, and personal exchange without having to get on a train. But for us, it also means: closer proximity to the journalists with whom we otherwise communicated primarily virtually. In addition, the new office finally offers enough space to implement the formats we have been envisioning for a while. Background discussions, small roundtables, spontaneous editorial visits – we now have exactly the right setting for all of this.

The new office in Frankfurt is located directly in the financial center at Opernplatz.

A location out of conviction

For the opening of the office, we invited guests first to our new premises and then to a live talk at Bitburger, the central meeting point of the Frankfurt financial scene. There, our Managing Director Arne Pflugrad got straight to the point: "This is not an experiment. This is a location out of conviction." And the timing could not be better. Because in addition to the new branch, there was also an anniversary to celebrate: public imaging turns thirty this year.

This is exactly what Peter Ehlers, founder of the agency, spoke about with Ingo Narat, one of Germany's most renowned financial journalists, at Bitburger. What has changed over three decades of financial communication? And what structural questions is the industry currently dealing with?

The outlook was clear: Artificial intelligence will further standardize communication processes. Journalists are increasingly becoming topic managers. And personal formats could soon gain greater importance again.

Actually, according to his own statement, Peter Ehlers always wanted to be a journalist. Out of this wish, an agency specializing in financial topics was born in 1996 – at a time when that was anything but a matter of course. Thirty years later, public imaging is one of the few agencies that have helped shape this industry from the very beginning – from print to online to social media.

Close to markets, close to media, close to people

The second location in Frankfurt is new. And in a digital era shaped by artificial intelligence, the parameters of our work are changing at a rapid pace. However, the fundamentals remain the same as those instilled in us when we were founded in 1996. Anyone who wants to successfully shape financial communication must understand markets, must understand media, must understand channels, must understand storytelling, but above all must understand people. Because communication always takes place between people – and those who understand this dynamic can also guide it.

With this in mind: Anyone who wants to talk to us about finance and communication or just have a coffee is always very welcome. Hochstraße 52, 4th floor, directly at Opernplatz.
